Animation Lamp

The Animation Lamp introduces a hybrid display system that functions as both a functional light source and an immersive storytelling medium. By integrating a rotating crystal block with high-frequency LED synchronization, the project transforms static 3D internal structures into fluid, glowing animations via the persistence of vision. Spatially arranged at precise angular intervals, these objects reveal a dynamic microworld when observed closely, while appearing as a standard incandescent bulb from a distance. The system features a modular design, enabling the interchangeability of content through swappable crystal units to support diverse visual narratives. To enhance user engagement, the research incorporates an intuitive wind-based interface using acoustic sensors that respond to blowing, allowing for natural control of the device’s state and animation direction. This work explores the boundaries between ambient lighting and interactive display technology, offering a versatile platform for collocated interaction and aesthetic atmospheric design.
