Conveyor World

This research introduces "Conveyor World," an immersive mixed reality (MR) game environment that utilizes a physically actuated conveyor belt as a dynamic game stage. By integrating a conventional conveyor system with a projector-camera setup, the project transforms mundane physical objects into interactive tangible interfaces that move linearly to interact with digital content. The system supports a dual-role collaborative experience: a "World Maker" who arranges physical obstacles on the belt and a "Game Player" who navigates a virtual character through the resulting environment using a gamepad. By emphasizing physical actuation and tangible properties, this work achieves a seamless blend of real and virtual worlds, enhancing user immersion and creating novel social interaction patterns between players with different roles.
