Motion Log Skateboard

Motion Log Skateboard records and shares non-visible body movement information, such as pressure distribution, which is typically difficult to capture through conventional video observation in skateboarding. The system integrates a pressure-sensor matrix onto a skateboard deck to log foot positions, pressure intensity, and the timing of movements. These data are synchronized with smartphone video recording and visualized as a heat map to provide intuitive feedback. Through an experimental session with skateboarders of varying skill levels, the project explores how visualized non-visible information can be transferred into a shareable format. The findings suggest that such objective evidence facilitates clearer communication between instructors and students and helps performers refine their movements by identifying discrepancies between their perception and actual physical actions. Ultimately, this research demonstrates the potential for interactive technology to establish new standards for exploring and training complex body movements in extreme sports.
